Mission Statement
Saint Vincent College is an educational community rooted in the tradition of the Catholic faith, the heritage of Benedictine monasticism, and the love of values inherent in the liberal approach to life and learning. Its mission is to provide quality under-graduate and graduate education for men and women to enable them to integrate their professional aims with the broader purposes of human life. The programs, activities, and encounters that make up student life at Saint Vincent College encourage the intellectual gifts, professional aptitudes and personal aspirations of students to mature harmoniously.
Academics
Saint Vincent College is an educational community rooted in the tradition of the Catholic faith, the heritage of Benedictine monasticism, and the love of values inherent in the liberal approach to life and learning.
The Core Curriculum presents all students with a broadly based education that provides a general body of knowledge in the humanities and fine arts, social sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics, an interdisciplinary view of that knowledge base, and the skills to increase that general body of knowledge throughout their lives.
The Schools of Saint Vincent College
Saint Vincent is organized into four schools; each includes a number of departments and major and minor programs, as well as special programs and public service outreach activities. Each school has its own Dean who works closely with students, faculty and prospective students. Undeclared majors will eventually choose a major that fits into one of the four schools.
The creation of the Alex G. McKenna School of Business, Economics, and Government in the summer of 2001 dramatically increased our students' ability to begin building successful networks and satisfying careers while attending Saint Vincent College. The McKenna School combines four related departments - Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, and Public Policy - into one, dynamic-focused organization.
As part of Saint Vincent College, the School of Social Science, Communication, and Education educates students in the liberal arts tradition so that they are well prepared for successful and rewarding lives. Our programs not only advance your knowledge in specific subject areas, they also encourage and develop analytical and critical thinking, problem solving, writing and technological skills.
The Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Computing offers undergraduate and graduate students a rigorous, integrated curriculum grounded in the founding principles of the Catholic and Benedictine tradition. These principles create an environment for study characterized by mutual respect, personal attention, and open dialogue. The School emphasizes creative and logical problem solving, active learning, opportunities for research, and co-curricular activities that stimulate personal growth and intellectual development that enable graduates to pursue careers in their chosen disciplines and contribute to the advancement of these fields of study.

Financial Aid
The Admission and Financial Aid Office of Saint Vincent College exists to help you achieve your goals. Our mission is not only to award financial aid, but to provide information about aid programs and the application process. We understand that the process can be confusing and overwhelming at times. We hope the information contained here will assist you in the coming months as you embark on the college search process.
The information provided is specific to Saint Vincent College. Financial Aid at other schools can be very similar, but they may have different filing deadlines and may vary in their awarding practices. This information is also geared toward full-time undergraduate students. Graduate and Continuing Education students are typically only eligible for loans.
If you have issues of a more personal nature, such as a change in income or family situation from the previous year, you should make an appointment to see an Admission and Financial Aid Counselor. It is also important to meet with a counselor before making any big academic decisions, such as dropping a class, changing your housing status or signing up for Study Abroad. All of these issues may impact your financial aid package.
