Facility Information
Natural Science: A unique aspect of the Natural Science Division is our proven experience and expertise at engaging students in undergraduate research. The best way to develop scientists and mathematicians is to have them engage in their respective disciplines as scholars. For this reason, engaging students in undergraduate research is central to the mission of the Natural Science Division. In the past year, over 50 students participated in undergraduate research mentored by Natural Science faculty. In the past 18 months, 40 student scholars have authored scientific papers or given presentations at scientific conferences.
Communications: The Communication Division enrolls approximately 600 undergraduate students and 35 graduate students. Most of the Division courses and co-curricular opportunities take advantage of the state-of-the-art Center for Communication and Business building located on Pepperdine University’s Malibu campus. These facilities include a working newspaper (Graphic), magazine (Currents), radio (KWVS), and news stations (NewsWaves).

Fine Arts: Pepperdine University Center for the Arts is available for performances, meetings, or special events. With 450 seats and just 15 rows, Smothers Theatre is an ideal space for dance, music, or theatre performances, or for lectures or meetings. In addition to our state-of-the-art theatres, we offer technical services, ticketing services, and audience services to meet your needs and the needs of your guests. Our beautiful oceanside facilities are just 25 scenic minutes from the Westside or Valley areas. We also offer a recital hall and a smaller black box theatre.
General Campus: Beauty, technology, and environmental stewardship came together in Pepperdine’s recent Malibu campus renovation project, which included major renovations to existing facilities and the addition of new classrooms and outdoor gathering areas. A total of 176,138 sq. ft. of space was enhanced or newly built in establishing what University administrators call Pepperdine’s Town Square.
“The work that has been completed—the improvements, the upgrades, and all the aesthetic enhancements that have been achieved—are a reminder that this University is always changing, always improving, and, we are not at all content with the way things are, when we have the vision and the will to see things as they might become,” said president Andy Benton.
Study Abroad
