    Jesuit Tradition and Core Curriculum
The foundation of Xavier's success is now what it has always been: its commitment to its Jesuit heritage. The core curriculum endeavors to realize and embody Xavier's mission and philosophy of education and serves as the educational foundation for all undergraduate students. Within the core, the four-course ethics/religion and society focus fosters students’ understanding of socially significant issues from the perspectives of the humanities, especially literature, philosophy and theology, as well as from the perspectives of the social and natural sciences.

Along with courses in their major, Xavier students also take courses in:

    Student Life

Xavier students get involved in many ways - through on campus activities as well as participating in events in Cincinnati.

    Living On Campus
With more than 1,800 students living on-campus in residence halls or apartments that include such amenities as DirecTV, air-conditioning and individual high-speed T3 Internet lines or wireless connections, on-campus living could not get much better. In fact, in the freshman and sophomore residence halls, Xavier’s facilities staff takes care of cleaning your bathroom as well. Now that’s service.

There's more than just physical comfort to Xavier residence halls. They are truly a home away from home, welcoming places filled with fun times and close friends. They're places to share laughs, late-night discussions and activities that range from barbecues to service projects and performances to parties. And while there's fun to be had, we know that living in a residence hall is a new experience for most freshmen. Xavier makes student safety a top priority, providing services such as 24-hour security, escort services and shuttle transportation on campus and to surrounding neighborhoods
