    Student Life

    The Student Activities department complements the student’s academic experience through the development of, exposure to, and participation in social, cultural, multicultural, intellectual, recreational, community service and campus governance programs.     Athletics Information

    Illinois Valley Community College is a two year community college located in Oglesby, Illinois. It has a total student population of 4000 students. Eight varsity sports are offered at IVCC. For men collegiate sports include baseball, basketball, golf and tennis. For women, sports include basketball, softball, tennis and volleyball. Students interested in trying out for these teams should contact the respective coaches at the beginning of the school year.

    IVCC recreation and athletic fields include five regulation tennis courts, a softball diamond, a baseball diamond and an all weather outdoor track. The gymnasium has two basketball courts with one regulation collegiate size court for varsity games. The gym is also used for varsity volleyball. The building also has an upper gym that has a half court available. Coaches are encouraged to use any of the college's facilities at any time that it is needed and available. All equipment and facilities should be maintained by contacting the athletic department (Tommy_Canale@ivcc.edu) when any repairs or maintenance is needed.

    Thanks to IVCC's membership in ICISP (the Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs), students have exciting opportunities to earn college credit while studying at accredited colleges overseas! ICISP offers semester long programs at Canterbury Christ Church University in England, the International College of Seville in Spain, and at Salzburg College in Austria. Four or five week summer programs are offered in Sydney, Australia and San Jose, Costa Rica. The curriculum emphasis is on courses in art, world languages, history, humanities, literature and music with additional subject areas offered as appropriate. All courses may be used to fulfill graduation requirements or as electives for the transfer degree.
