    Welcome

As Maryland’s premier and most exciting two-year college, Garrett offers a unique experience for those who wish to immerse themselves in traditional college life. With residence halls, successful athletic teams, and exceptional educational opportunities, Garrett offers everything you’re looking for in a college and more.

Garrett College is located in the beautiful mountains of Western Maryland. Our scenic location offers outdoor adventures from mild to wild. Our campus is just minutes from the Wisp Ski Resort, which also boasts the world’s only mountaintop whitewater course. The clear waters of popular Deep Creek Lake are right next door for your enjoyment, and the Youghiogheny River is close at hand for great fishing and whitewater boating. Garrett County also offers thousands of acres of state parks with hiking, biking and cross-country skiing trails, as well as a number of spectacular waterfalls.

Because of our small size, Garrett places a lot of emphasis on personal attention. With less than 1,000 in attendance, our student to faculty ratio is just 11:1, and our average class size of 20 ensures that students get the one-on-one interaction they need for success.

Garrett offers an open enrollment policy, so whether you graduated at the top of your class or have a little catching up to do, you will experience a stimulating learning environment in a personal, supportive community at Garrett College. Our goal is for every student to have access to higher education, regardless of past academic performance or test scores.
