Q. I don’t think I qualify
for Financial Aid, should I even apply?
Yes. Many students miss out on great
financial opportunity because they never apply for financial aid. There are
other options to receiving age for education. Unsubsidized Stafford and PLUS
loans that are available in spite of need. There is no cost associated with
FAFSA there is no reason not to apply.
Q. Do I need to be admitted to my college
before I fill out my Financial Aid?
No. You can apply to financial aid
at any time after January 1. In order to receive your awarded finances you must
be admitted to your college.
Q. Do
I have to apply for financial aid every year?
Yes. Most financial aid offices
will require you to reapply for financial aid annually because of the yearly
change of taxes, number of household students, GPA score change, etc.
Q. How
do I apply for need based scholarships such as the Pell Grant?
Upon completing your FAFSA you will
be provided with the option to check boxes pertaining to student employment,
student loans, and parent loans. Although checking these features will not
guarantee that you accumulate a greater award, it will give you the option to
either accept of decline each part of your aid package later.
Q. If
I take a break from School do I have to pay back my loans?
Not Immediately. When you take a
leave of absence from college, you will have only as long as the scholarship
grace period will allow. If you completely use up your grace period during your
time away from school you will have to begin payment immediately after
graduation.
