Environmental Inclusion

Inclusive Environments and Universal Design (space and instructional settings)

Schools that make learning possible for all students in the traditional classroom setting are inclusive learning environments with universal learning designs.   The RTI (Response to Intervention) a three tiered curricular design that allows educators to evaluate the need for intervention only after three intensive levels of instruction have eliminated any need for further intervention.   This attention to differentiated accommodation and modified instruction with assistive technology benefits all students and is therefore one means of providing universal design in curriculum and instruction.
