Academic Departments are Grounded in Liberal Arts
The academic departments at Bridgewater College are grounded in a Liberal Arts education -- meaning that our academic departments work closely together to help students make connections across disciplines. Being able to draw on knowledge from a wide range of subjects makes you a well-rounded person intellectually and broadens your future career possibilities.

Some of the majors in our academic departments require students to take courses outside of the discipline, expanding on the connections that are already made within the major. For example, Communication Studies and Business Administration give students the option of taking Philosophy courses. Family and Consumer Sciences and Health and Exercise Science departments require nutrition and wellness majors to take courses within Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Sociology. Information Systems Management requires Business, Philosophy, Sociology, and Math.

Collaboration and sharing of resources also occurs between academic departments at Bridgewater College.

    Student Life

    Religious Life
Founded by and affiliated with the Church of the Brethren, Bridgewater is a non-sectarian institution that affirms Brethren values of community, service, and no force in religion. At Bridgewater, ethical and spiritual awareness is not imposed but encouraged as an integral dimension of the whole person.

Recognizing that everyone is at a different place on the spiritual journey, Bridgewater doesn't assume a "one size fits all" approach to the faith development of o students to explore, develop, and express their faith in ways that fit who and where they are on that journey.

From weekly BC Chapel services and Spiritual Life Groups to Student Peer Ministers and Deputation Teams, Bridgewater seeks to be an academic community where students develop spiritually as well as intellectually, socially, and emotionally during the college years. We invite you to explore the links on this page to discover all the ways in which you may develop a personal faith and find your meaningful place in the world while at Bridgewater College.

    Clubs and Organizations On Campus
Bridgewater College has over 70 social, cultural, religious, and academic clubs and organizations. Most students on campus are involved in at least one club or organization, and many are engaged in several. When you join a club or organization, you'll become an active part of the Bridgewater community. You'll become a voice for the campus, while developing essential life skills, such as teamwork, communication, time management, and organization. You'll also learn how to express your ideas to others and get the support you need to create change on campus.

It's all part of the maturing process at Bridgewater. Our goal is to ensure that you graduate prepared to take on any challenge and succeed.
