Dickinson State is located in Dickinson, North Dakota, a city of 17,000, near the rugged and beautiful North Dakota Badlands and Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Outdoor recreational activities including hiking, biking, golfing, hunting, and fishing are located within minutes of campus. Dickinson is located along Interstate 94 and the community is served by commercial bus and air service for easy access.

Dickinson State University Foundation Scholarship Criteria
The Dickinson State University Foundation is the scholarship arm of the University. This body provides students with recognition and awards for their outstanding accomplishments that will help students financially to allow them to complete their degree. The Foundation looks for three general characteristics in awarding all of its scholarships. These characteristics are as follows:
-Be a full-time student in good academic standing at Dickinson State University
-Be worthy, deserving, and of good moral character
-Show promise of leadership and academic ability
-These are only general characteristics and each individual scholarship may have additional criteria that the award may be based on.

You can be involved in student government, student publications, musical groups, science and art organizations, drama and speech clubs, athletics (varsity and intramural), special departmental clubs and organizations, national and international learning trips.
What's Happening on Campus
Your college years will be filled with special memories and friendships that last a lifetime. At Dickinson State there are approximately 50 different organizations and campus activities that will help you find your niche.
Choose from areas such as intramural sports, band, chorus, drama, forensics, art, student government, honor society, academic clubs, cheerleading, and dance, to name just a few.
Weekdays and weekends are jam-packed with scheduled activities such as dances, movies, concerts, entertainers, athletic competitions, and much more.
Intramural sports provide hours of recreational competition in flag football, basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer, golf, darts, badminton, ping-pong, skating, broom ball, billiards, and horseshoes.
You can study, hang out with friends, or take advantage of the indoor swimming pool, television lounge, and game room in the Student Center.
Housing Information
Dickinson State provides a selection in housing offering men's, women's, co-ed residence halls, and family-student housing. Our halls, complete with computer stations, provide a comfortable and attractive place to live and learn.
International Club
The mission of the International Club at DSU is to promote intercultural knowledge and learning and creating a learning environment for all DSU students and community through educational programs designed to celebrate and promote cultural diversity. The international Club encourages an environment of tolerance for all and address and resolve needs and concerns of the DSU student community.
All DSU students regardless of age, gender, color, nationality or religion are encouraged to be active members of the International Club.
Athletics
Dickinson State University sponsors 15 varsity and 2 club sports in its intercollegiate athletic program. Blue Hawk athletic teams are affiliated with the eight-member Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA).
DSU ATHLETIC OFFERINGS
The Blue Hawks compete in football, volleyball, men’s cross country, women’s cross-country, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, wrestling, men’s indoor track and field, women’s indoor track and field, men’s golf, women’s golf, baseball, softball, men’s outdoor track and field, women’s outdoor track and field, men’s rodeo, and women’s rodeo.
Study Abroad Information
Whether your choose to study abroad for the international experience, internships, work and travel or simply for the excitement of it, the experience will expand your knowledge of international affairs, provide a deeper understanding of other cultures, and offer new perspectives on subject matter you've already covered in the classroom. Your career opportunities will be much greater due to your direct experience and developed skills necessary for success in an increasingly diverse and globally interdependent workforce.
Although Dickinson State does not currently have a formal Education Abroad program, the Center for Multicultural Affairs maintains a collection of Education Abroad materials and is prepared to assist you in making a choice on where and what to study.
Through faculty led programs, exchanges with international partner institutions, and affiliations with national Education Abroad organizations, we are sure you will be able to find the program which fits your needs best.
